Resume Cover Letters

Resume cover letters usually accompany the resume when applying for a job. The cover letter summarizes one’s qualifications for the job being applied for and informs your prospective employer why you think that you are the right candidate for the advertised job. It actually introduces you to the potential employer who gets to know more about you considering that chances are that you have never met before. Employers look for eye catching cover letters that will help them single out the potential candidate from other numerous applicants because the letter creates the first impression on what kind of person the applicant is.

For online applications, it is advisable to write a brief paragraph as a cover letter as you send the resume. A good resume cover letter should be brief, focused and concise. Simplicity is key considering that you want the reader to know the kind of a person you are and convince him or her in writing that you are the right candidate for the job. Ensure that there no spelling, grammar, or punctuation mistakes and tailor the letter to each specific application.
